New flow cytometers with increasing number fluorescent channels in UV and Far Red and the availability of similar fluorescent conjugates is now available. To keep up, we have developed Ultra Rainbow Fluorescent Particles with enhanced UV and Far Red fluorescence intensity. Ultra Rainbow fluorescent particles contain a single peak and are designed to control the optical alignment of any flow cytometer in all channels.
Description
This product contains a single population of rainbow particles that are colored to a single fluorescent intensity. Each rainbow particle contains a mixture of fluorophores that are stably embedded in the particle and can be excited at any wavelength from 365-650 nm, so that most channels in a flow cytometer can be calibrated using the same set of particles. Rainbow Particles have emission spectra compatible with many common fluorophores used for immunofluorescent staining by flow cytometric analysis. Rainbow fluorescent particles are supplied in a dropper bottle for easy delivery and storage.
These rainbow calibration particles are a mixture of 3.0 – 3.4 μm particles, colored to six different fluorescent intensities. Since their excitation range is 365 – 650 nm, they can be used with most lasers. However, they are not for use with the UV laser. The emission spectra of these rainbow particles are compatible with many common fluorophores used in immunofluorescent staining by flow cytometric analysis.

Recommended analysis procedures
This particle mixture (~ 10 × 10 ^ 6 particles / ml) is useful for routine calibration of flow cytometers. Before use, the particles are resuspended by vortex. Dilution of 3-5 drops of particles to 1 ml of sheath fluid provides a sufficient number of particles for flow cytometric analysis.
