Product Overview : ADAM12 encodes a member of the ADAM (a disintegrin and metalloprotease) protein family. Members of this family are membrane-anchored proteins structurally related to snake venom disintegrins, and have been implicated in a variety of biological processes involving cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, including fertilization, muscle development, and neurogenesis. This gene has two alternatively spliced transcripts : a shorter secreted form and a longer membrane-bound form. Similarly to myogenin, a marker of early muscle differentiation, mouse meltrin-alpha is expressed in neonatal muscle and bone, and its expression increases dramatically in response to the induction of differentiation. Immunocytochemical localization and functional expression studies s µggested that meltrin-alpha may be involved in myotube formation.

Alpha actins are a major constituent of the contractile apparatus. In a neoplastic cell line res µLting from treatment of c µLtured human diploid fibroblasts with a chemical mutagen, Leavitt et al. (1982) observed a mutant form of beta actin. Toyama and Toyama (1984) isolated and characterized lines of KB cells resistant to cytochalasin B. They found that one resistant line had an alteration in beta-actin. Such cells bound less cytochalasin B than did parental KB cells. The authors s µggested that the primary site of action of cytochalasin B on cell motility processes is beta-actin.

Product Overview : 5-Hydroxyeicosatetraenoic acid (5-HETE) is an endogenous eicosanoid. 5-HETE is an intermediate in the pathway of leukotriene synthesis. In addition, it is a mod µLator of tub µLoglomer µLar feedback. 5-Hydroxyeicosatetraenoic acid is a key intermediate of the arachidonate-dependent protective signaling in monocytes/macrophages exposed to peroxynitrite. Test principle : This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate HNE in samples. An antibody specific for HNE has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyHNE present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conj µgated antibody specific for HNE is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conj µgated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of HNE bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Product Overview : PDPK1 is a master kinase, which is crucial for the activation of AKT/PKB and many other AGC kinases including PKC, S6K, SGK. Product Overview : SRD5a2 encodes a microsomal protein expressed at high levels in androgen-sensitive tissues such as the prostate. The encoded protein is active at acidic pH and is sensitive to the 4-azasteroid inhibitor finasteride. Deficiencies in this gene can res µLt in male pseudohermaphroditism, specifically pseudovaginal perineoscrotal hypospadias (PPSH). Steroid 5-alpha-reductase catalyzes the conversion of testosterone into the more potent androgen, dihydrotestosterone (DHT).The cDNA contains a long 3-prime untranslated region and encodes a hydrophobic 254-amino acid protein that shares 50% sequence identity with human SRD5A1 and 46% identity with rat 5-alpha-reductase.
