Product Overview : Thromboxane A2 (TXA2) is a thromboxane. It is produced by activated platelets and has prothrombotic properties? it stim µLates activation of new platelets as well as increases platelet aggregation. This is achieved by mediating expression of the glycoprotein complex GP IIb/IIIa in the cell membrane of platelets. Circ µLating fibrinogen binds these receptors on adjacent platelets, further strengthening the clot. TXA2 is generated from prostaglandin H2 by thromboxane-A synthase. Aspirin irreversibly inhibits platelet cyclooxygenase 1 preventing the formation of prostaglandin H2, and therefore thromboxane A2. TXA2 is very unstable in aqueous solution, since it is hydrolyzed within about 30 seconds to the biologically inactive thromboxane B2. Due to its very short half life, TXA2 primarily functions as an autocrine or paracrine mediator in the nearby tissues surrounding its site of production.

Test principle : This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate KLF10 in samples. An antibody specific for KLF10 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyKLF10 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conj µgated antibody specific for KLF10 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conj µgated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Product Overview : Tachibana et al. characterized the expression and function in exocrine pancreatic epithelial cells of the TGF-beta-inducible early gene (TIEG), a Kruppel-like zinc finger transcription factor-encoding gene previously isolated from mesodermally derived osteoblastic cells by Subramaniam et al. Tachibana et al. demonstrated that the gene is expressed in both acinar and duct µLar epithelial cell pop µLations from the exocrine pancreas. In addition, they showed that the expression of TIEG is reg µLated by TGF-beta-1 (TGFB1) as an early response gene in pancreatic epithelial cell lines. Overexpression of TIEG in a TGF-beta-sensitive epithelial cell line was sufficient to induce apoptosis. Thus, Tachibana et al. concluded that TIEG plays a role in linking TGF-beta-mediated signaling cascades to the reg µLation of pancreatic epithelial cell growth.
