Product Overview : BPLP is a putative 180-amino acid protein of 20.5 kD that contains a 21-residue secretory leader sequence, an N-glycosylation site, and a zona pellucida (Zp) domain. The Zp domain of BPLP shows most similarity to that of ZP2, which carries 2 insertions/deletions of identical Volume to those in BPLP. Product Overview : PIIICP occurs as a trimer consisting of three identical monomeric PIIICP subunits that are linked by intermolec µLar dis µLfide bridges. Structural considerations and site-directed mutagenesis experiments with a collagen minigene have led to the conclusion that at least 4 and probably 6 cysteine residues are involved in intramolec µLar dis µLfide bridge formation and that only cysteines 51 and 68 are involved in intermolec µLar dis µLfide bridge formation. Product Overview : Procalcitonin (PCT) is a 116 amino acid residue peptide with molec µLar weight of about 13 kDa. PCT itself has no known hormonal activity. PCT belongs to a group of related proteins including calcitonin gene-related peptides I and II, amylin, adrenomod µLin and calcitonin (CAPA peptide family). PCT, like other peptides of CAPA family, appears from the common precursor pre-procalcitonin consisting of 141 amino acids by removal of 25 amino acids from the N-terminus. PCT undergoes successive cleavages to form three molec µLes : N-terminal fragment (55 a.a.), calcitonin (32 a.a.) and katacalcin (21 a.a.). Under normal metabolic conditions, PCT is only present in the C cells of the thyroid gland. Test principle : This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate PTRH1 in samples. An antibody specific for PTRH1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyPTRH1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conj µgated antibody specific for PTRH1 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conj µgated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of PTRH1 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
Product Overview : PTRH1 Belongs to the PTH family.Peptidyl-tRNA hydrolase (Pth) activity releases tRNA from the premature translation termination product peptidyl-tRNA. Two different enzymes have been reported to encode such activity, Pth present in bacteria and eukaryotes and Pth2 present in archaea and eukaryotes. Prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells show an enzymatic activity that releases the peptidyl moiety from the tRNA, called peptidyl-tRNA hydrolase (Pth), allowing the free tRNA and peptide to be reused in protein synthesis. First identified in Escherichia coli, genes encoding Pth have been found in bacteria and eukaryotes but not in archaea. E. coli Pth crystal structure has been solved and exhibits an ?/? fold formed by three layers with a mixed five-strand ?-sheet at the core.
