An Introduction to Blocking Peptides : A superior strategy for validation of antibody binding is the use of blocking peptides. In the case of the phosphor- antibodies, the antibodies can and will only recognize the phosphorylated target protein at the corresponding site, not the non-phosphorylated target protein or target protein phosphorylated at a different site.
