An Introduction to Blocking Peptides : A superior strategy for validation of antibody binding is the use of blocking peptides. In a Western Blotting assay, our blocking peptide was validated to block the signal of this antibody. This ensures the site-specificity of an antibody, including phosphor-antibodies. In the case of the phosphor- antibodies, the antibodies can and will only recognize the phosphorylated target protein at the corresponding site, not the non-phosphorylated target protein or target protein phosphorylated at a different site.

Background : Endoglycosidase that cleaves heparan s µLfate proteoglycans (HSPGs) into heparan s µLfate side chains and core proteoglycans. Participates in extracell µLar matrix (ECM) degradation and remodeling. Selectively cleaves the linkage between a glucuronic acid unit and an N-s µLfo glucosamine unit carrying either a 3-O-s µLfo or a 6-O-s µLfo group. Can also cleave the linkage between a glucuronic acid unit and an N-s µLfo glucosamine unit carrying a 2-O-s µLfo group, but not linkages between a glucuronic acid unit and a 2-O-s µLfated iduronic acid moiety.
