General information Phytohemagglutinin M (PHA-M) is a mitogen used to stimulate cell proliferation in lymphocyte cell cultures. Lymphocytes are specialized differentiated cells and as such do not normally undergo cell division. However, under the action of a mitotic stimulus, lymphocytes can enter a process of cell division. Lymphocyte stimulation with phytohemagglutinin is used to obtain metaphase chromosomes for subsequent cytogenetic analysis. ‎ Component composition and characteristics Phytohemagglutinin M (PHA-M) is a lectin derived from Phaseolus vulgaris. It consists of two subunits - leukoagglutinin (PHA-L) and erythroagglutinin (PHA-E). ‎ Shelf life and stability Shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture when stored at ≤-15°C. After thawing, the product retains its stability for at least 1 month when stored from +2°C to +8°C. ‎ CE-IVD / For in vitro diagnostic use
