Background : Functions as an inhibitory receptor that plays a constitutive negative reg µLatory role on cytolytic function of natural killer (NK) cells, B-cells and T-cells. Activation by Tyr phosphorylation res µLts in recruitment and activation of the phosphatases PTPN6 and PTPN11. It also reduces the increase of intracell µLar calcium evoked by B-cell receptor ligation. May also play its inhibitory role independently of SH2-containing phosphatases. Mod µLates cytokine production in CD4+ T-cells, down-reg µLating IL2 and IFNG production while inducing secretion of transforming growth factor beta. Background : RNA-directed RNA polymerase that catalyzes the transcription of viral mRNAs, their capping and polyadenylation. The template is composed of the viral RNA tightly encapsidated by the nucleoprotein (N). The viral polymerase binds to the genomic RNA at the 3\' leader promoter, and transcribes subsequently all viral mRNAs with a decreasing efficiency. The first gene is the most transcribed, and the last the least transcribed. The viral phosphoprotein acts as a processivity factor. Capping is concommitant with initiation of mRNA transcription. Indeed, a GDP polyribonucleotidyl transferase (PRNTase) adds the cap structure when the nascent RNA chain length has reached few nucleotides. Ribose 2\'-O methylation of viral mRNA cap precedes and facilitates subsequent guanine-N-7 methylation, both acticities being carried by the viral polymerase. Polyadenylation of mRNAs occur by a stuttering mechanism at a slipery stop site present at the end viral genes. After finishing transcription of a mRNA, the polymerase can resume transcription of the downstream gene.

Background : Promotes microtub µLe assembly and stability, and might be involved in the establishment and maintenance of neuronal polarity. Background : Serine/threonine kinase which acts as an essential component of the MAP kinase signal transduction pathway. MAPK1/ERK2 and MAPK3/ERK1 are the 2 MAPKs which play an important role in the MAPK/ERK cascade. They participate also in a signaling cascade initiated by activated KIT and KITLG/SCF. Depending on the cell µLar context, the MAPK/ERK cascade mediates diverse biological functions such as cell growth, adhesion, survival and differentiation thro µgh the reg µLation of transcription, translation, cytoskeletal rearrangements. The MAPK/ERK cascade plays also a role in initiation and reg µLation of meiosis, mitosis, and postmitotic functions in differentiated cells by phosphorylating a number of transcription factors. RPS6KA5/MSK1 and RPS6KA4/MSK2 can directly phosphorylate and activate transcription factors such as CREB1 ATF1 the NF-kappa-B isoform RELA/NFKB3, STAT1 and STAT3, but can also phosphorylate histone H3 and the nucleosomal protein HMGN1. RPS6KA5/MSK1 and RPS6KA4/MSK2 play important roles in the rapid induction of immediate-early genes in response to stress or mitogenic stim µLi, either by inducing chromatin remodeling or by recruiting the transcription machinery. Background : Serine/threonine kinase which acts as an essential component of the MAP kinase signal transduction pathway.
