Product Overview : Tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 13 is a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) ligand family. Expressed at high levels in transformed cell lines, cancers of colon, thyroid, lymphoid tissues and specifically expressed in monocytes and macrophages. This protein is a ligand for TNFRSF17/BCMA, a member of the TNF receptor family. This protein and its receptor are both found to be important for B cell development. In vitro experiments s µggested that this protein may be able to induce apoptosis thro µgh its interaction with other TNF receptor family proteins such as TNFRSF6/FAS and TNFRSF14/HVEM. Product Overview : ADAMTS5 is a member of the ADAMTS protein family. Members of the family share several distinct protein mod µLes, including a propeptide region, a metalloproteinase domain, a disintegrin-like domain, and a thrombospondin type 1 (TS) motif. Individual members of this family differ in the number of C-terminal TS motifs, and some have unique C-terminal domains. The enzyme encoded by this gene contains two C-terminal TS motifs and functions as aggrecanase to cleave aggrecan, a major proteoglycan of cartilage. Genetically modified mice in which the catalytic domain of ADAMTS5 was deleted are resistant to cartilage destruction in an experimental model of osteoarthritis.ADAMTS5 is the major aggrecanase in mouse cartilage in a mouse model of inflammatory arthritis.

Alpha actins are a major constituent of the contractile apparatus. In a neoplastic cell line res µLting from treatment of c µLtured human diploid fibroblasts with a chemical mutagen, Leavitt et al. (1982) observed a mutant form of beta actin. Toyama and Toyama (1984) isolated and characterized lines of KB cells resistant to cytochalasin B. They found that one resistant line had an alteration in beta-actin. Such cells bound less cytochalasin B than did parental KB cells.
