Test principle : This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate VGF in samples. An antibody specific for VGF has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyVGF present is bound by the immobilized antibody. Product Overview : VGF or VGF nerve growth factor inducible is a protein and neuropeptide that may play a role in reg µLating energy homeostasis, metabolism and synaptic plasticity. The protein was first discovered in 1985 by Lewi et al. in an experiment with PC12 cells and its name is non-acronymic. VGF gene encodes a precursor which is divided by proteolysis to polypeptides of different mass, which have a variety of functions, the best studied of which is the role of TLQP-21 in the control of appetite and inflammation. The expression of VGF and VGF-derived peptides is detected in a subset of neurons in the central and peripheral nervous systems and specific pop µLations of endocrine cells in the adenohypophysis, adrenal med µLla, gastrointestinal tract, and pancreas.

Product Overview : By searching an EST database for sequences similar to dog Vip36, Neve et al. (2003) identified LMAN2, which they called VIP36. The deduced 356-amino acid protein contains an N-terminal signal sequence, followed by a lectin-type carbohydrate recognition domain and a C-terminal transmembrane domain. A KRFY endoplasmic retic µLum trafficking motif is located at the C terminus. Northern blot analysis detected variable expression of 1.2- and 1.4-kb VIP36 transcripts in all tissues examined. Highest expression was in kidney, placenta, and liver. Nufer et al. (2003) determined that the LMAN2 gene contains 8 exons and spans 14.9 kb.By genomic sequence analysis, Nufer et al. (2003) mapped the LMAN2 gene to chromosome 5q35.5.

Product Overview : VAMP2 is a member of the vesicle-associated membrane protein (VAMP)/synaptobrevin family. Product Overview : Vasohibin protein contains a cluster of basic amino acids in its C terminus and no classic secretion signal sequence. Vasohibin expression was robust between embryonic weeks 6 to 12 in heart, brain, kidney, lung, skeletal muscle, and whole embryo. Immunohistochemical analysis detected vasohibin at the endothelial layer of placenta and brain. The deduced protein contains 365 amino acids.
